The National Coastal Agency (Agjensia Kombëtare e Bregdetit) was established in January of 2014 and is housed under the Ministry of Economy, Tourism, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of Albania. Our office is located in the heart of Skenderbeg Plaza, the central square in the city of Tirana.
- The NCA is directed by Auron Tare, who previously served as director of Butrint National Park in Albania, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the first Albanian Center for Marine Research. The mission of the National Coastal Agency is to protect, preserve, and promote the coastlines in Albania. The agency’s projects include the sustainable development of Albania’s beaches, increased infrastructure for the promotion of research on both Albania’s coasts, restoration of Sazani Island, and renovation of mountain villages in the effort to promote transnational tourism throughout the country.
